Dr. Crainick and Grim Take on the Ultimate Human-Dog Challenge!

We’re cheering on our very own Dr. Crainick and her dog Grim, who recently participated in the incredible OneWorld Canine Obstacle Run—an event that’s as fun as it is fierce!

This isn’t your average jog in the park. The OneWorld Canine Obstacle Run is a one-of-a-kind adventure designed for owner-and-dog duos to tackle together. Spanning over 4 miles of rugged terrain at the 200-acre OneWorld Pet Resort in McClellan (Anniston, Alabama), the course features 30+ purpose-built obstacles—from scaling walls and maneuvering through mud pits to bounding over logs, crawling through tunnels, and splashing through water crossings.

Dr. Crainick and Grim made an amazing team, showing off not only physical stamina and agility, but the kind of deep trust and communication that comes from a strong human-animal bond. This is what the event is all about: celebrating the incredible partnership between people and their pups.

The race welcomes all types of participants—from everyday dog lovers and thrill-seekers to Search & Rescue teams, Military Working Dog units, Police K-9s, and even solo runners who choose to take on the challenge without a four-legged partner. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned competitor, there's room for everyone. Participants range from age 10 to 100, and even the scoring is thoughtfully designed, with time bonuses based on both the handler’s and the dog’s age.

What makes this event truly special is the spirit of camaraderie, determination, and joy. Whether you're leaping over logs or laughing through a belly-crawl in the mud, you and your dog are in it together—overcoming challenges, building confidence, and having an absolute blast along the way.

We’re so proud of Dr. Crainick and Grim for representing with heart and grit.

What kind of dog is Grim? He is a Mudi!

If you’ve never heard of the Mudi (pronounced "moody"), you’re not alone—this rare Hungarian herding breed is a hidden gem among dog lovers. But once you learn about them, it’s hard not to fall in love.

The Mudi is a medium-sized, high-energy dog originally bred for herding livestock across the rugged landscapes of Hungary. Don’t let their size fool you—these dogs are athletic powerhouses packed with brains and drive.

What really sets the Mudi apart is their intelligence and agility. They thrive on tasks that challenge both their minds and bodies, making them ideal for herding, agility courses, obedience trials, search and rescue, and just about any dog sport you can think of. They love having a job to do, and they’re fast learners who live for praise and purpose.

But these dogs aren’t just workhorses—they’re also loving and loyal companions. Mudis are naturally alert and protective, which makes them great watchdogs, but they’re not overly aggressive. They’re known to be affectionate with their families, bonding closely and often becoming a true “shadow dog” to their favorite human.

To keep a Mudi happy, you’ll need to meet their physical and mental exercise needs. This is not a couch potato breed—they want action, adventure, and brain games. Daily walks, playtime, training, and tasks that engage their problem-solving skills are a must.

Physically, the Mudi has a striking appearance. Their coat is short on the face and legs, but wavy to curly across the body. They come in a wide range of colors—black, brown, gray, white, and even merle. They typically stand 14 to 18 inches tall and weigh between 18 and 29 pounds. With good care, most live around 12 to 14 years.

If you’re an active person or family looking for a smart, spirited, and devoted dog, the Mudi just might be the perfect fit. They’re still pretty rare outside of Hungary, so if you spot one at a dog sport event or hiking trail, count yourself lucky—you’ve just met one of the most versatile working dogs out there.
